High School Options

Which High School Program is Right For You?

Visions In Education offers two 9-12th grade high school options, Independent Study and University Prep. Learn more about each program below or watch one of our information session webinars here!

Independent Study High School

Students have the flexibility to earn their diploma from home. Classes are completed online and we provide students with a free Chromebook while they’re enrolled. A credentialed teacher regularly meets with the student one-on-one either virtually or at a convenient location like a library or community center. This program serves students looking to attend community college or join the workforce after graduation. Learn more about Independent Study here.

Student Benefits:

  • $1,000 a year (beginning the 22/23 school year) for:
    • Community partner activities like coding, tutoring, swimming and more.
    • Materials for directed projects created by the student on a topic they enjoy like technology, art, cosmetology, etc.
    • Driver’s Ed classes.
  • Additional $800 per year for community college courses and materials.
  • Career Technical Education (CTE) options in healthcare offered in partnership with Folsom Lake College including a Medical Careers Pathway. With more options coming soon!
  • Opportunity to participate in our Automotive Tech Partnership at American River College.
  • Online tutoring including 1:1 tutoring from Sacramento State students.
  • Access to field trips, group meetings, college tours, mentoring programs and more.

University Prep High School

This academy uses a similar model as Independent Study but students take A-G and Honors courses to prepare for college/university. Students have a one-on-one relationship with their advisory teacher and are also supported by five subject-specific teachers. More information about University Prep can be found here.

Student Benefits:

  • $1,000 a year (beginning the 22/23 school year) for:

  • Curriculum meets A-G requirements needed to attend four-year colleges and universities.
